Upper & Lower Eye Lid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)

By removing excess fat, skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids, blepharoplasty can rejuvenate puffy, sagging or tired-looking eyes. It is typically a cosmetic procedure but can also improve vision by lifting droopy eyelids out of the patient’s field of vision. The procedure is usually performed in an office with local anesthesia and lasts 45 minutes to a few hours depending on how much work is done.

Blepharoplasty cannot be used to raise the eyebrows or reduce the appearance of wrinkles, crow’s feet or dark circles under the eyes, but the procedure can be combined with others such as a facelift and Botox ® treatments to achieve these results.

Facelift

In time, gravity, sun exposure, and the stresses of daily life take their toll on our faces: deep creases appear beside the mouth, the jawline slackens, and folds and fat deposits appear on the neck. Facelifts counteract these problems by removing fat and tightening skin and muscles, giving your face a fresher, youthful look -- after surgery, some patients appear as much as ten or 15 years younger.

The procedure can be combined with others (browlift, eyelid surgery, nose reshaping) for more dramatic results, or it can be restricted to the neck (necklift) if the patient’s problems center there. Incisions are made in inconspicuous places such as behind the hairline and in natural folds of the face and ears, and scars fade to near invisibility in time. Results of a facelift do not last forever; you may want to have another procedure in five or ten years. But in another sense, the effects are permanent; years later, your face will continue to look better than if you had never had the procedure.

Rhinoplasty

One of the most common plastic surgery procedures, rhinoplasty is performed to reshape, reduce or augment a person’s nose, remove a hump, narrow nostril width, change the angle between the nose and the mouth, or to correct injury, birth defects, or other problems that affect breathing.

Rhinoplasty is usually an outpatient procedure performed under either local or general anesthesia and lasts one to two hours unless more extensive work needs to be done. Insurance may cover rhinoplasty if it is done for reconstructive or medical reasons, but likely not for cosmetic purposes.

Lip Augmentation

Full and vivacious lips have always been recognized as aesthetically important features. Some of us however, are born with thin, ill-defined lips. But the appearance of our lips is now within our control. During this procedure, a piece of tissue is borrowed from somewhere in your body and grafted into one or both lips.

Necklift

You may desire a neck lift if you have localized deposits of fat in the anterior part of the neck - under the chin. A neck lift may also be indicated if you have sagging, with skin folds in the anterior part of the neck.

The neck lift procedure is intended to produce a more youthful appearing neck with a better contour.

Neck lift is done on an outpatient basis under sedation and local or general anesthesia. The procedure may require an incision under the chin, behind the ears, or both. Fat is suctioned or excised, muscles may be tightened, and skin may be removed or a laser liposuction with skin tighening depending on individual findings.

Cool Lipo

New Technology for an Old Age Problem

As we grow older our skin begins to show signs of the sun, lifestyle and aging. The face and neck are exposed to the sun more than any other part of the body; therefore they both tend to age more quickly. As these aging effects begin to appear we look for topical formulas and non-invasive treatments to help reduce future aging plus improve current appearance.  Many prefer not to undergo extensive surgical face and neck lifts due to expense and risk. Additionally, these procedures require a lengthy time for the face and neck to heal, not always an option for people with limited recovery time.

CoolLipo TM (laser- assisted lipolysis) is a new, minimally invasive technology that liquefies fat for easy removal. It is a laser – based procedure that breaks up and removes fat cells in areas such as under the chin, neck and jowls or areas with loose skin such as the arms. In addition, the unique wavelength of the CoolLipo laser system directly contracts collagen and tightens the skin from the inside out, an effect not seen with standard liposuction.

CoolLipo Benefits

  • Gentle fat disruption and removal technique for small areas
  • Treats areas that are difficult for conventional liposuction
  • Less invasive than a neck or face lift
  • May be performed under local anesthesia only
  • Short procedure in your physician’s office
  • Safe with minimal bruising and side effects
  • Minimal downtime post-procedure
